We need your permission to curate the sell and resell of your exclusive content that we deliver to consumers in the form of collectibles (NFTs) via our web3 social commerce platform.

In other words, we need authorization from you as a content creator to share your videos and audio to your followers so that you can better monetize and control your content through our mobile app.

Some content that you post and sell, like videos, audio, music, art, photos, podcasts, live streams, gaming, movies and more, may be protected by intellectual property laws that you own or control.

Therefore, we need your permission to facilitate these transactions so that you can get fairly compensated for your creativity and art-form.

You keep ownership of the intellectual property rights (such as copyright or trademarks) for any content you create and sell through the wiCollect App and other wiCollect companies or subsidiaries.

Your rights as the owner of your content remain intact. You can share it freely with anyone at any time and in any way that you choose, but there are age restrictions and a certain content is prohibited on our platform.

We curate your exclusive digital collectibles, supported by blockchain technology, to help you monetize and control your art. You grant us permission to convert your exclusive content into collectibles (NFTs).

To use our platform or app, you must grant us legal permissions (a license) to use and share your exclusive content.

This is for selling your products and services as a content creator and promoting our web3 social commerce platform, as per our Policy and Terms of Use agreements.

 

How can you safeguard your content?

  • Report Infringement: Report unauthorized use of your work to wiCollect at support@wicollect.com.
  • Use Your Own Content: You can only share and sell content you have created and have the right to. Using copyrighted or trademarked material without permission from the original creator can have major consequences.
  • Be Aware of Limitations: wiCollect cannot give legal advice. For copyright or trademark questions, consult an attorney.

  • Collectible vs. the Video or Audio: A collectible (NFT) is a unique token that proves ownership of a specific video or audio version, but not the video or audio itself.
  • Copyright is Separate: Buying a collectible does not mean you own the copyright or trademark. The original content creator owns the exclusive rights to sell, distribute, and reproduce the video or audio content.

 

What are the steps to take if you are accused of piracy?

  • Review the Notification: Carefully review any warnings or notifications from the plaintiff or wiCollect.
  • Check Your VODs: Review your recorded content for any copyrighted or trademarked material that you detected as the defendant.
  • Provide Proof of Rights: If you believe you have the right to use the content, provide proof to wiCollect to contest the claim or consult an attorney.
  • Use Provided Resources: Ensure you have the necessary licenses or permission to play copyrighted music and movies if you are selling music or content that includes them.

 

Reposting the Collectible Item

  • Unique Identifier: The collectible is a unique blockchain token that cannot be replicated.
  • Blockchain Record: The blockchain, a public and immutable record, ensures transparent token ownership accessible to anyone on the platform.
  • Multi-Platform Display: Connecting the same wallet to multiple platforms allows you to display the same collectible, but it does not mean you agree to reposting the token itself.


What are the problems associated with reposting digital assets?

  • Devaluation: Reposting a collectible that has already been bought can devalue it by making it seem less scarce or harder to resell.
  • Creator Rights: It is a major concern in the digital collectible community because it violates the original creator’s ownership and intellectual property rights.
  • Confusion: It confuses creators, sellers, collectors, and resellers who mistakenly believe they are buying a unique item that’s easily replicated.


What are you allowed to do?

  • Display Your Collectible: You can display your collectible or a part of it on social media without losing ownership.
  • Share Links: Share links to the full collection or the collectible page on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok.
  • Create Derivative Works: You cannot create new merchandise or media from the video or audio unless the original creator’s terms allow it.


What are you not allowed to do?

  • Copy Video or Audio: Copying the video or audio, or claiming it as your original work, is not allowed.
  • Sell Copyright: Purchasing a collectible does not automatically grant you copyright or trademark to the video or audio; the original creator retains it unless you explicitly transfer it.
  • Sell Other Rights: You cannot sell or use the video or audio for commercial purposes like advertising without permission from the original creator.
