CHILD SAFETY POLICY

wiCollect mandates that users are at least 13 years old. For users under 18, the platform automatically classifies their account as a Teen Account.

This classification enforces default privacy settings, including private profiles, strict messaging limits, sensitive content filters, and daily time limit reminders. However, teens under 16 need parental permission to lower these protections.

Core Safety Features for Minors

  • Private by Default: Accounts belonging to teenagers under the age of 18 are automatically set to private, thereby preventing strangers from viewing, tagging, or messaging them.
  • Strict Messaging: Minors can only be messaged or added to group chats by individuals they already follow or are connected to.
  • Parental Supervision: Parents can link their accounts to monitor their children’s screen time, approve changes to their screen time settings, view the accounts they are connected to, and set daily screen time limits.
  • Built-In Protections: Features like Sleep Mode, nighttime mute notifications, and auto-filters blur suspected nudity in direct messages enhance privacy.

Age Enforcement and Adult Interactions

  • Age Verification: wiCollect employs machine learning tools to verify the ages of users. If an adult account exhibits suspicious behavior, wiCollect conceals teen accounts from their search and suggestion results.
  • Nudity Protection: Teen accounts automatically have nudity protection filters enabled to prevent the receiving or forwarding of explicit images.
